Meet the Team

Katie
Katie Sorg, M.S. CCC-SLP/L

Katie graduated from Augustana College with her Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2008, and completed her Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2010. She received a graduate certification in Autism Spectrum Disorders in 2016 and in Assistive Technology with a focus in Communication and AAC in 2024. She has worked in both private and school settings servicing children and adults, as well as supporting birth-3 in early intervention. She has significant experience supporting and evaluating all speech and language areas including articulation, fluency, expressive, receptive and pragmatic language and feeding, but also specializes in supporting the needs of autistic children and adults and  alternative and augmentative communication (AAC).  Katie loves working with children and adults, and their support systems, to help them to communicate effectively and efficiently in all areas of their life!

Christian Anderson, OTR/L

Occupational Therapist

Nicole graduated from Illinois State University in 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a minor in Psychology. She went on to earn her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Lewis University in May 2026. Throughout graduate school, Nicole gained valuable hands-on experience across a variety of settings and with children with diverse communication needs. Her clinical experience includes working in elementary schools to support articulation, receptive and expressive language, and social communication skills. She also gained experience in a pediatric clinic and in Early Intervention, working with children ages birth to three, including children with medically complex needs. Through these experiences, she developed a passion for helping children build foundational communication skills while supporting and coaching families along the way. Nicole is completing her clinical fellowship at PFG Therapy, where she is excited to continue her growth in the field and help individuals reach their full potential with compassionate, evidence-based care.

Speech Language Pathologist

Sarah graduated from Butler University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Science Disorders in 2017. She then received a Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Northwestern University in 2019. Sarah has worked in both school and private settings servicing young and older children. She has experience conducting evaluations and treating all areas of speech and language including articulation, receptive and expressive language, pragmatic language, and fluency. Sarah loves working with children to help them improve their communication abilities so they can express themselves clearly and effectively with all of the people in their lives.

Lanie Moreno, DPT, PT

Physical Therapist

Lanie received her Bachelor of Science degree, Master of Science degree and Doctor of Physical
Therapy from Ithaca College in upstate New York. She has been a part of the Hillmann Pediatric
Therapy team since July of 2017. Lanie has worked and volunteered in a variety of therapeutic
settings including aquatic therapy, hospital, hippotherapy, in-home, outpatient clinic and
performing arts but her focus has always been pediatrics. Lanie has known she wanted to be a
pediatric PT since she was 4 years old. She used to attend therapy sessions with her younger
brother and he has continued to be a huge inspiration! When she is not working, Lanie enjoys
spending time with her family, making memories with her boys and volunteering with Best
Buddies as well as supporting her brother’s hockey team (Chicago Storm Special Hockey).

Maggie
Maggie Ruzich, OTD, OTR/L

Owner, Occupational Therapist

Maggie graduated with her Masters of Occupational Therapy from Saint Louis University in 2015. In 2021, she received her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from Columbia University in New York, where she focused on cognition and motor learning challenges. Maggie loves working with both children and adults to help them participate in all of their desired activities through enhancing skills or modifying the environment.
She continues to participate in research to ensure she is providing the best possible care to her clients!

Salena Lucio, COTA/L

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Salena has been a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for two and half years with over a decade of experience in working with adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation and Disability Services from Northern Illinois University and an Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from Fox College.She is especially passionate about supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Integration and ADHD. She believes in the power of environmental, play-based, and family-centered treatment methods to create meaningful connections and promote growth.

Bailey Penning, M.S. CCC-SLP/L

Speech-Language Pathologist

Bailey graduated from the University of Iowa in 2023 with a Bachleor's degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences and a minor in psychology. She then received a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from Lewis University in May 2025. During graduate Schoo, Bailey gained valuable hands-on experience working in a variety of settings including; working in a therapeutic day school for children with autism focusing on receptive, expressive and pragmatic language, cognitive communication, and AAC. She has experience in working in a rehabilitation clubhouse for adults post-stroke, focusing on memory, receptive and expressive language, and executive functioning.

Makenna Clark, M.S. CCC-SLP/L

Speech-Language Pathologist

Makenna  received a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from Lewis University in May 2025. Makenna gained valuable hands-on experience working in a variety of settings including. She has experience in working both the school setting and pediatric clinical setting. She is swim coach and swim instructor throughout the year and enjoys helping every child learn new skills! Makenna is a wonderful addition to our PFG team!

Jessica Welsh, PTA

Physical Therapist Assistant

Jessica received her Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, prior to attending PTA school at Fox College. Jessica worked as a Registered Behavioral Technician for children with Autism for 2 years before starting her career as a PTA. She has been part of the Hillmann Pediatric Therapy team since May of 2019. She has worked in both school and outpatient settings. Jessica has a passion for working with families to help their children achieve gross motor milestones such as sitting, crawling, and walking. Outside of her professional life, Jessica enjoys spending time with her son and husband, attending sporting events, and being outside.

Griselda Haynes, M.S. DHH, EI

Developmental Therapist, Deaf/Hard of Hearing

Griselda brings a wealth of experience and heart to her role as a DHH (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) teacher. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Special Education with a focus on Deaf/Hard of Hearing students and a Master's in Early Intervention – Deaf/Hard of Hearing. Griselda is also a former certified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), giving her a strong foundation in supporting a wide range of learner needs.

She is currently working with K-2 students, Griselda has also taught middle school and upper elementary (4th/5th grade), making her a versatile and compassionate educator. Outside the classroom, she’s a proud mom to a toddler, which adds a personal touch to her nurturing and playful approach.
