April is Autism Acceptance Month—a time to move beyond awareness and focus on understanding, inclusion, and meaningful support for individuals on the autism spectrum.
At PFG Therapy, this month is especially important to us. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the unique strengths of each child we work with and to partner with families in helping their children thrive.
💙 Awareness vs. Acceptance
You may have heard the shift from Autism Awareness to Autism Acceptance. While awareness is important, acceptance goes a step further.
Acceptance means:
Valuing differences rather than trying to change them
Creating supportive environments where children feel understood
Meeting each child where they are
Every child experiences the world differently—and that difference is not something to “fix,” but something to support and embrace.
🧠 Understanding Autism
Autism is a spectrum, which means no two children are exactly alike. Children may have differences in:
Communication and language
Social interaction
Sensory processing
Play and behavior
Some children may be highly verbal, while others may communicate in different ways. Some may seek sensory input, while others may avoid it.
Understanding these differences helps us respond with compassion and effective support.

At PFG Therapy, we’re honored to be part of that journey 💙
